Google has updated its Shopper app for Android and iPhone smartphones to make it easier to find cheap deals for restaurants and other services on the move.

Google Shopper 2.0 for Android (free from the Android Market) and Google Shopper 1.5 for iPhone (free from the iTunes App Store) both now include a ‘nearby offers’ tab that show any special deals near to the current location.

Offers can be viewed both as a list of nearby businesses and as markers on a map, and can be further split into ‘Eat’ and ‘Play’ categories to make it easier to find a specific deal.

Special offers that can’t be used immediately but are still valid for some time can now also be saved for later use and accessed from the new ‘My Offers’ option, which is useful for discounted meals that you might want to make use of at a later date.
