The Swift Group is the UK’s leading motorhome manufacturer, responsible for some 30 per cent of all new motorhome sales. For the 2012 season, Swift has focused most of its design and development budget on revamping the Bolero.

All 2012 Swift Group models will be based on the new Euro 5 Fiat Ducato at their public launch at October’s NEC show from 11-16 October. For 2012, the Bolero range will get AL-KO chassis extensions, and comprise seven low-profile models, with gross weights of 3500kg, 3700kg or 4000kg, depending on model.

They’re powered by the new 2.3-litre 130 or 150 Fiat MultiJet II engines as standard (the latter is standard for 4000kg models and an option for those powered by the 130), with the three-litre 180 a cost-option.

Onboard heating, and hot water is now courtesy of Alde’s system: a premium piece of kit that’s a welcome inclusion at this price point (prices start from £49,140).

Our exclusive video review (below) features the Swift Bolero 724FB, with a layout that incorporates the popular French bed with transverse washroom at the rear. Up front, there’s a half-dinette, with two belted passenger seats, plus a facing side-sofa.

For our full test review of the Bolero, look out for the November issue of Practical Motorhome, on sale from 28 September.
