Chelston Motorhomes celebrated its 50th anniversary over the weekend with a three-day party.

Running from 2nd-4th June, the party included a barbecue, two nights of entertainment, camping and more, with business partners, customers and staff in attendance. Proceedings began with the ceremonial cutting of an Adria Supersonic cake by Adria UK managing director Slavica Sterk and Chelston managing director Wayne Kavanagh.

Slavica also presented Wayne with a framed drawing that depicted the first Adria motorhome, as well as the latest model.

The dealership initially started when Brenda and Stanley Eyles bought Snows Garage in Somerset in 1973, subsequently renaming it “Chelston Motors and Petrol”. The first motorhome would make its appearance in 1986.

As the business continued to grow, the company bought land to begin developing what would become its current home, ultimately moving in 1999. Now, as the dealer celebrates its 50th anniversary, Chelston stocks new and used ‘vans from some of the best motorhome brands, including Auto-Trail, Swift, Carthago, Adria, Burstner, Carado and Laika.
