Here at Practical Motorhome we want you to have the best holidays, and we know how crucial pitching at a great campsite can be to your tour; that’s why we publish our Top 100 Sites Guide every year. So we are pleased to announce that the 2015 edition is out now – and you’ll get a free copy with the May 2015 issue of Practical Motorhome, on sale from 12 March!
This year our Top 100 Sites Guide is better than ever, and that’s thanks to you. More of you got involved than ever before, with more than 13,200 votes cast, making this the most reliable guide to date. After you, the readers of Practical Motorhome – plus the readership of our sister title Practical Caravan and users of our sister website Caravan Sitefinder – have cast your votes, our experts consider every single entry before compiling our list of finalists.
“This is, once again, your handy, all-in-one guide to the best UK campsites and holiday parks,” says Guide Editor and Practical Motorhome’s Managing Editor Sarah Wakely. “This year you’ll find a great variety of sites listed, from remote parks with minimal facilities to full facility holiday parks, from adults-only retreats to fun-filled family parks. So whatever kind of campsite you want to stay at when you head away in your ‘van, we hope you will find it in our Top 100 Sites Guide 2015 and have the best holidays, this year and beyond.”
One stand-out statistic from the votes received for our 2015 guide is the number of adults-only sites that made the cut, especially in the Heart of England region – in fact, almost half that region’s sites in our 2015 guide fall into that category. Overall, 16 sites in our Top 100 Sites Guide 2015 are adults-only, while 27 are open all year round and 98 are pet friendly. Another noteworthy statistic from this year’s guide is that almost a fifth of our 2015 finalists are in Devon.
As motorcaravanners, we’re sure you’ll be keen to hear that the number one site for motorhomes in our Top 100 Sites Guide 2015 is South Lytchett Manor Caravan & Camping Park in Dorset, which was also voted the best campsite in the county. At number two in our list of best campsites for motorhomes was another regional winner, Grantown-on-Spey Caravan Park, an open all year site in Scotland. And in the bronze position in this list was the excellent Waterrow Touring Park in Somerset, another open all year site that’s exclusively for adults and is, according to your votes, very popular with motorcaravanners.
