Former Lawns show postponed again – but will still include motorhomes
The organiser of Britain’s biggest annual holiday home show that had to cancel a move to a new venue last year that was partly to attract motorhomes for the first time has now decided to cancel this year’s rescheduled event as well.
However the Hull and East Riding Caravan Manufacturers Association (HERCMA) says that when the newly named Caravan, Motorhome and Holiday Home Show finally opens to the public at the Great Yorkshire Showground between 2 and 4 September 2022, it will include motorhomes.
HERCMA chairman Richard Jones said, “Unfortunately, there remains too much uncertainty to commit to the event this year. We have therefore made this announcement at the earliest opportunity and also published the dates for next year. We’re now looking forward, with confidence, to the first event at our new venue in Harrogate in September 2022.”
The show had previously run for over 40 years with caravans and holiday homes only in the grounds of the University of Hull – and had acquired the moniker “The Lawns Show” as a result.
Meanwhile, Caravan Salon, the world’s largest motorhome exhibition, is currently still planning to go ahead in Germany this year, although with a considerably widened exhibitor profile.
The show, which is still due to run from 27 August until 5 September in Düsseldorf has effectively taken over TourNatur, an outdoor leisure show that has previously run for three days concurrently with it – but separately.
This year, TourNatur will be incorporated into the Equipment and Outdoor sections of Caravan Salon, and will run over the full ten days of the show.
Caravan Salon was one of the few major motorhome shows to take place last year, although a number of significant exhibitors did not take part.
