The Camping and Caravanning Club has teamed up with Drayton Manor Theme Park to run its campsite.

Campers visiting Drayton Manor, near Tamworth in Staffordshire, will be able to make use of the 90-pitch site operated by the Club from Thursday, March 29, 2012.

It’s located within walking distance of the theme park’s entry gates, and currently offers grass pitches only and no electric hook-up. The Club plans to upgrade the site during the closed season, but was unable to give full details of what this will include as yet.

Drayton Manor is one of the UK’s most popular family theme parks, attracting more than one million visitors a year. Its popular rides and activities include Thomas Land, Ben 10: Ultimate Mission rollercoaster, 15-acre zoo, 4D cinema, Apocalypse and Shockwave.

Drayton Manor Club Site follows in the footsteps of two other Club-operated sites adjacent to theme parks: Gulliver’s Milton Keynes (Gulliver’s) and Alton, The Star (Alton Towers).

Drayton Manor Theme Park’s George Bryan said: “We’ve had a campsite at Drayton Manor for decades and it’s always been popular, but I genuinely believe that this partnership with The Camping and Caravanning Club will greatly enhance the campsite’s appeal.
