After months of anticipation, Bailey Motorhomes has revealed the full line-up, production names and pricing of its first ever range of motorhomes.
The three-model range, which will take its public bow at the Birmingham NEC Motorhome and Caravan Show from 11-16 October, has been named Approach SE.
There will be three models at launch: two low-profiles and an overcab coachbuilt.
The two low-profiles are the 620 (a two-berth, with end kitchen and facing sofas up front) and the 740 (a two-berth, with rear French bed and facing sofas up front). The overcab is the 760 (a six-berth family van).
Prices are set to be very keen, too: they’ll start at around £40,000 OTR for the 620, with the top-of-the-range 760 priced at around £45,000 OTR.
Bailey has appointed a 30-strong UK dealer network to retail the motorhomes. Display models will arrive at dealers in November, and Bailey is encouraging enthusiasts and potential buyers to take a test drive of one of their ’vans from 15 November to 15 February.
It has also announced that – as we suspected in our piece on the motorhomes’ design and development – it will offer a 10-year bodyshell integrity on the caravan body, which underlines the Bristol firm’s confidence in its state-of-the-art Alu-Tech construction system.
All models will be based on the Peugeot Boxer / AL-KO chassis, and will be powered by the Euro 5-compliant, 2.2-litre 130bhp engine. Specification is high throughout: the cabs get air conditioning, twin airbags, cruise control and steering wheel radio buttons as standard.
Similarly, the caravan element benefits from Truma combi heating, Dometic 8-series fridge/freezer, a microwave oven and an insulated, underslung 100-litre fresh water tank with a heating element.
Practical Motorhome will exclusively review both the low-profile 740 and the overcab 760 in our November issue, on sale from 28 September, and we’ll be the first to publish video reviews of both models here online. Watch this space!
