Auto-Sleepers has pulled off a very clever, four-berth van conversion with the launch of the Windrush here at the show.

Based on the LWB Peugeot Boxer, it features four forward-facing travel seats with three point belts, a well-equipped kitchen, a decent washroom, and – here’s the truly unique feature – transverse bunk beds at the rear of the van.

In recent years, we can only think of the short-lived Adria 4Twin and the WildAx Solaris that have offered bunk beds in a van conversion, but both manufacturers sited theirs lengthways.

Both bunks are potentially adult berths – intriguingly, there’s even room for a locker above the mattress in the lower berth. The upper berth is built on a sturdy steel frame. Both beds have individual curtains, making neat ‘dens’ of each.

Both of the bunk beds are fixed, and the lower bunk incorporates a storage locker which can be accessed through these rear doors.

The model on show here at the NEC is based on the Euro 5 Boxer, is fitted with a premium pack that includes cab aircon, ally wheels, cruise control, AL-KO airtop suspension and awning, and finished with gold metallic paintwork. It’s priced at £49,355 OTR.

If you’re a family of four looking for a well-equipped van conversion – whether down-sizing from a larger coachbuilt motorhome or coming up from a touring caravan – it’s a must-see if you’re here at the show this weekend.

The show runs from October 11-16.
