In association with The Motorcaravanner’s Club, we run a Nightstops scheme of locations across the UK that accept motorhomes and can be real money-savers. In the case of some pubs, you may even be able to stay for free if you’ve bought a meal.
As is the case of the latest addition, the Black Horse Inn in Kirkby Fleetham; the £20 per night pitch fee is redeemable against food and drink in the pub.
Facilities provided here include hardstandings for 5 ‘vans, fresh water, garbage disposal, a washroom, and toilet facilities (including a disabled toilet that is accessible for wheelchair users). Plus, it’s dog friendly, so you don’t have to leave your canine friend out of your touring adventures.
What’s more, you can stay here for up to 3 days – giving plenty of time to explore the surrounding Yorkshire countryside. There’s certainly plenty of interesting things to see in the area.
The village of Kirkby Fleetham is a mile east of the A1, giving fairly easy access for motorhomes, and is around 8 miles from the market town of Northallerton.
The area is often known as Herriot Country, after the author James Herriot, and is in the heart of Yorkshire. It takes in the North York Moors, miles of unspoilt countryside, and the Yorkshire Dales.
Places of interest nearby include 15th century Kiplin Hall & Gardens, where there’s an award-winning tearoom and acres of grounds to explore. All of Richmond’s historic attractions and shops are also reasonably close, as is the county town of York and coastal Whitby.
For more details on this exciting new addition to our scheme, and all the other overnight spots available, see the Nightstops page.
