We are thrilled to reveal that the Swift Escape 604 is Practical Motorhome‘s Motorhome of the Year 2018!

At tonight’s ceremony, held at Hampton Manor in Solihull, this new-for-2018 compact four-berth fought off tough competition from 29 other shortlisted motorhomes to take home this year’s big prize.

“Swift’s best-selling single coachbuilt range has now been made even greater, thanks to the little 604,” said Practical Motorhome‘s Editor Sarah Wakely.

These are the best new motorhomes for sale right now

Motorhomes from across Europe were shortlisted in 10 categories, spanning the full range of today’s motorhome market, from ‘Best rising-roof camper’ and ‘Best budget ’van’, to ‘Best luxury motorhome over 3500kg’.

Earlier this evening, the Swift Escape 604 beat the Elddis Accordo 105 and Hymer Exsis-i 504 in the ‘Best compact motorhome’ class.

“If you’re a couple looking for a comfortable coachbuilt to take on tour, you can’t go wrong with the Swift Escape 604,” Sarah explained.

“It may not be the cheapest out there, but I love just about everything in this tiddler,” added Practical Motorhome‘s Group Head of Content Alastair Clements. “Great interior, small footprint and stylish trim.”

Why the Escape 604 is our top ’van

It is never easy choosing our overall winner – especially when the list of contenders is so talented!

“Unsurprisingly, the judges’ opinions varied,” Sarah recalled. “But one thing we did agree on was that this all-new four-berth truly deserves our 2018 Motorhome of the Year award.

“The 604’s real strength lies in the fact that it does exactly what it’s supposed to, and extremely well – and in a body length of just 5.97m!”

This Fiat Ducato-based four-berth also, usefully, boasts four travel seats, has a licence-friendly MTPLM of 3500kg so anyone with a driving licence can get behind the wheel, and it is priced from £47,580.

“Many congratulations to Swift for winning the night’s biggest prize,” said Sarah, “and to all our class winners, too. Taking the top award means so much more when the field is as strong as it is for the 2018 season.”
