Marquis Leisure adds a 12th location to its UK dealer network, as it announces its takeover of Michael Jordan Caravans and Motorhomes in Surrey

You’ll know that Marquis Leisure is the largest motorhome and caravan dealer network in Britain – well, now it cements that status with the acquisition of Michael Jordan Caravans and Motorhomes.

This announcement means that Marquis now has 12 sites across the UK.

From this September, Michael Jordan Caravans and Motorhomes, in Gomshall, will be known as Marquis Surrey.

The Bailey and Swift motorhome dealer has built up a considerable reputation, with over 50 years in the business.

Big plans afoot

The seven-acre site between Dorking and Guildford is set to undergo a transformation under its new owners, as Marquis Leisure has already announced plans to expand the existing 12-bay workshop and customer service area.

Right at the start of 2017, the French Trigano Group revealed its takeover of Marquis Leisure, and the Marquis management says having such backing has helped its continued expansion.

“Michael Jordan is a reputable business currently selling top UK caravan and motorhome brands Swift and Bailey,” said Marquis Leisure Managing Director Mike Crouch.

“The extensive site will enable Marquis to further enhance the display of new and used stock from franchises within the Marquis stable.”

European brands such as Mobilvetta and Benimar are already sold exclusively through Marquis Leisure outlets, as well as Trigano’s Caravelair range of caravans.

In addition, you’re sure to be familiar with its Majestic and Lifestyle dealer-special motorhome ranges, based on, respectively, Elddis and Swift ’vans.

Marquis Leisure has existing branches not far from its new Surrey site, including one near Newbury in Berkshire, plus one each in neighbouring counties East Sussex and Hampshire, as well as other outlets across the UK, including in Lancashire, Gloucestershire and County Durham.

An opening event for the new Marquis Surrey is planned for later in the year.
