First to star in this week’s TV show is the Adria Compact SLS – and this new-for-2016 low-profile really does ‘star’, thanks to its amazing new feature. It has a 1m-long slide-out rear section which increases sleeping accommodation, but capping the motorhome’s overall length at 5.99m. And when you’re lying back, enjoying the comfort of this bed, it feels like you’re seeing the stars, thanks to the LED ‘Constellation’ skylight. Moving to the galley, Adria’s neat, practical design has a snazzy, illuminated splashback. It’s in the washroom that the ‘compact’ part of this motorhome’s name really shouts loud, but this space-efficient design has been marvellously executed, squeezing in a tip-up sink, a swivel loo and a shower. Be sure to tune in to find out what else delights our Editor Niall Hampton about this new Adria motorhome which is priced at just under £50,000.

This episode will be broadcast five times on Practical Motorhome TV:

  • at 8.30pm on Monday 25 April;
  • at 5.30pm on Wednesday 27 April;
  • and at 7.30pm on Friday 29, Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May 2016.

And in case you’re wondering, you’ll find our channel on Showcase, which is on Freeview 254 (if you have a smart TV) and Sky 212 – and our shows are all being streamed live online.

Second in line is a French two-berth – watch our Pilote Pacific P650C review. This Essentiel-trimmed example has been generously specced by the dealer and it really has a very special feeling inside. Being a 6.5m-long ’van, it’s not surprising that the kitchen isn’t massive, but you still get two gas burners, a sink, a grill and a good few cupboards, plus a slimline fridge. Join us on Practical Motorhome TV as Niall reveals the hidden secrets of this Pilote’s clever nearside washroom and the great island bed.

Then we are off to Bagwell Farm Touring Park in Dorset. Open all year, it has super sea views. There’s also a play area for the kids, an exercise area for dogs and other site essentials like showers and toilets with disabled access, a laundry room and a shop, plus on-site eateries, an off-licence and some animals that guests of all ages will love to meet. Tune in and find out more – or pitch here next time you visit Dorset.

After the break, we look at the latest iteration of a motorcaravanning icon, the Volkswagen California. The T6-based version is here, and the entry-level Beach and top-spec Ocean are being imported to the UK. Practical Motorhome’s Editor Niall Hampton is here to review an Ocean variant, stuffed with goodies including a canopy awning, a reversing camera, parking sensors and an electric roof. Out on the road this VW campervan is a comfortable and rewarding companion. Back on site, Niall gets inside where there’s the classic campervan layout – find out more in our latest TV show.

Then, Practical Motorhome’s garage guru Diamond Dave returns with more expert advice. This time he throws the spotlight on solar panels, how they work and how to fit them to your ’van.

Finally on this week’s TV show, our Editor Niall reviews the Auto-Sleeper Stanway, a panel van conversion which fits a lot into its 6m-long body. The lounge, designed to make the most of the views out the sliding door, converts into the master bedroom with little fuss. There’s also an ergonomic and well-specced corner kitchen, as well as a small yet well-equipped washroom. See it for yourself, only on Practical Motorhome TV.

So remember to tune in for a week from Monday 25 April 2016, at the times listed above, to Practical Motorhome TV on Showcase, which is on Sky 212, Freeview 254 (if you have a smart TV) and live online.
