A NEW ADDITION to the Swift Group’s Escape range, the Escape 644, will be displayed to the public for the first time at the Caravan & Motorhome Show in Manchester’s EventCity later this week.

The Fiat Ducato-based 644 is a compact 6.3 metre overcab coachbuilt with a rear U-shaped lounge. Its highlight is the inclusion of a half-dinette with two forward-facing belted passenger seats, which is quite a feat in a rear-lounge motorhome of this size. It brings the number of belted passenger seats to four, which matches the number of berths. Swift’s Escape range is one of the best in the UK when it comes to matching berths to belted seats.

The family-friendly 644 has an on-the-road starting price of £37,210, and comes with a 128bhp engine. A six-speed automatic gearbox is available as an option, although Swift isn’t offering the higher-powered Ducato engines with its Escape range.
