The three top awards go to Silverdale Caravan Park in Lancashire (Best English site), Linnhe Lochside Holidays in the Highlands (Best Scottish site) and Plassey Leisure Park near Wrexham (Best Welsh site). The inaugural Roger Almond Award for the AA’s Most Improved Campsite went to Church Farm Caravan & Camping Park in Sixpenny Handley, Wiltshire.

Five regional winners were also announced. They are:
Oakdown Holiday Park (pictured), Sidmouth, Devon (South-West England)
Sandy Balls Holiday Centre, Fordingbridge, Hants (South-East England)
Townsend Touring Park, Pembridge, Herefordshire (Heart of England)
Skelwith Fold Caravan Park, Ambleside, Cumbria (North-West England)
and Ord House Country Park, Berwick-on-Tweed (North-East England)

Details of all the winners, and reviews of hundreds of inspected and rated sites, can be found in the new AA Caravan and Camping Britain and Ireland Guide 2011. It’s now available for £9.99 from the AA’s online shop, which you’ll find by visiting theAA.com/shop.
