There’s a new addition to the Practical Motorhome Nightstop network of UK certificated locations: the Black Horse in Monks Horton near Ashford, Kent.

The Black Horse brings the Nightstop network to 9 fully CL-licenced locations. The sites are spread throughout the country from as far south as the The Halfway House Inn in Cornwall to the The Ship Inn in East Yorkshire (pictured). We launched the scheme last year in conjunction with our partners the Motor Caravanners’ Club, to cater for motorcaravanners’ need for ’van stopover points that are quick and cheap to access but safe and legal, too. And you don’t need to be a member of any clubs to use them.

The latest addition is a lovely country inn, in the middle of a pretty hamlet, and is a fantastic place to stop overnight if you’re heading to or from the ferry terminals at Dover or Folkestone. It’s only four miles from the Channel Tunnel, too.

The pub serves a good range of food throughout the day, and a good selection of beers and wines. It also offers free Wi-Fi, fresh water, chemical-disposal points, toilets and washrooms. As with all of our Nightstop locations we’d recommend phoning in advance to check whether there’s a space available for you; to contact the Black Horse Inn, call 01303 812182.
