For the 2020 season, Sunlight is introducing a new two-model compact low-profile range and two sub-7m vans in its conventional low-profile and A-class ranges.

But the company hasn’t missed an opportunity to celebrate its 15th anniversary, with a special edition, and has also made a few tweaks here and there across all of its ranges.

GETTING MORE COMPACT

The two models in the Fiat-based Sunlight van range (not to be confused with its VW-based Cliff range of van conversions) are both 18cm narrower than their equivalents in the conventional low-profile range, and designed more for city driving or those with limited space.

The 5.99m V60 has a transverse bed at the rear, while the V66, at 6.65m, includes two fixed singles.

TWO NEW LAYOUTS

The two new floorpans the firm is offering in its low-profile and A-class ranges are both under 7m long, and come with fixed single beds in the rear and a half-dinette up front – Sunlight’s best-selling layout.

The T 67 S is 6.96m long, while the A-class I 67 S is 2cm longer.

ANNIVERSARY VANS

It is 15 years since Sunlight was born. Initially, it was a budget offshoot of Dethleffs and produced in the same factory in Isny im Allgäu, although production was moved to Capron in eastern Germany as long ago as 2006.

The company has grown in that time, establishing a dealership network right across Europe, including the UK.

At its 2020 season launch in Munich, the company was even welcoming a new dealer from faraway Moldova. So it’s no surprise that it has chosen to celebrate its 15th anniversary in a rather special way.

For 2020, Sunlight is bringing out a special XV edition for all four of its Cliff van conversions, as well as two of its largest low-profiles – the T 68 with fixed single beds at the rear and the T 69 L with an island bed.

The XV van conversions are all-over black on the outside, with matt-black XV graphics and a contrasting while Sunlight logo.

The low-profiles have silver sides, with a black metallic cab, the same matt-black graphics and the odd rugged detail, such as industrial-style flooring on the cab stelp.

The awning rail and bike rack (both optional) also come in black, and all XVs have 16-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, you’ll find leather Alcantara upholstery with XV branding. Both also have flush-fitting windows and a multimedia package. Standard spec includes roof lights, shower walls, and extra mains and USB sockets.

AND MUCH MORE

Elsewhere, minor upgrades for 2020 include the addition of two Isofix points for child seats in Cliff van conversions, kitchen window trim in low-profiles that matches the work surface, and a boot locker door under the side sofa in overcab models.

OUR PICK – SUNLIGHT CLIFF 600 XV EDITION

This was always a sporty little number. Now the all-black exterior with futuristic matt-black decals should really give the Cliff 600 that little bit more oomph down on the surfing beach.
