Join us as we celebrate the park crowned Best Green Site in our Top 100 Sites Guide 2018 – and discover why we think it is worthy of that accolade

Love touring glorious Great Britain and want it to stay that way?

Us, too! Which is why, each year in our Top 100 Sites Guide, produced in association with sister magazine Practical Caravan, we reward the most environmentally conscious site and name one park our 'Best Green Site'.

Many of our fantastic 100 finalists go to great lengths to protect the natural world, but which scooped this year's award?

Congratulations to Royal Vale Caravan Park in Cheshire!

Why is it our Best Green Site 2018?

At the heart of Royal Vale's service is a commitment to environmentally friendly touring, as outlined in the 'Environmental Policy and Code for Visitors' you'll find on the park's website.

Those working at the site and its visitors are encouraged to reduce their energy consumption, cut down on waste and re-use items, and to recycle paper, bottles and cans in the on-site facilities.

But that's not all. Visit Royal Vale Caravan Park and you'll see that there are wild flowers and trees to encourage wildlife, hedges for nesting birds and further wild areas around the site's edge to promote native animals and plants.

What else does this site offer?

Royal Vale is open all year, is just for adults and you'll find it a short drive east of the M6, close to Knutsford.

All of the 52 touring pitches are hardstanding and have 16A electric hook-up, water and waste connections, plus there's free Wi-Fi, an indoor washing up area, tourist information, and centrally heated washrooms with disabled facilities.

"The amenity block is first class," said one reader who voted this park into our guide, another adding, "the site is immaculate".

And if you'd like to leave your ’van on your pitch and explore the local area, the good news is that the nearest train station is just a mile away!
