Halfords has released a shopping app for Android and iPhone to complement its mobile web site.

The free app lets you browse products from the Halfords online store and either buy them directly, or reserve them for in-store pick-up.

The app also includes a couple of useful features for checking out products before buying — customer reviews can be browsed and a barcode scanner can quickly pull up product information with a quick snap of the smartphone’s camera. The app can also be used to find nearby Halfords stores, either based on the current GPS position or by choosing a point on a map.

All in all, the Halfords Android and iPhone app is a useful freebie to have if you regularly shop at the store, or just want quick access to its product information and customer reviews, but it is still rather buggy and crashed a few times in our brief tests. Hopefully a future update will sort that out, though.
