Sink or swim for amphibious ice cream van conversion

If you like to travel off the beaten track with your van and are a dab hand in the garage, you might take some inspiration from Cadbury’s latest custom effort. To celebrate last week’s National Ice Cream Week, it unveiled its amphibious ice cream van — the HMS Flake 99.

To celebrate last week’s National Ice Cream Week, it unveiled its amphibious ice cream van — the HMS Flake 99.

A year in the making, the van is apparently based on a Land Rover chassis and the amphibious gear was made by Mike Ryan — the same bloke that put together Jeremy Clarkson’s “Toyboata” for the Top Gear amphibious vehicle challenge a few years ago.
