Each month, we’ll provide you with everything you need to know about where to go and what to see throughout the year, so you can get planning for the best motorhome experience 2022! We’re now sharing our touring tips for March…

Why not head to Wales? Enjoy the stunning scenery, or try an exciting zipline experience

St David’s Day (1 March) has to be the perfect reason to head for the land of dragons and daffodils.

Wales has it all: mountains, beaches, action adventures. We’d be torn between the fine Pembrokeshire coastline, with sensational landscapes and abundant flora and fauna, and the drama on offer in stunning Snowdonia.

With kids or grandchildren in tow, we would choose the latter, because it offers the longest, fastest zipline in the country, unique underground action at Bounce Below and even surfing (10 miles away from the sea!).

At Zipworld, visitors can rocket down a mile-long steel cable above the former slate quarry, at close to 100mph.

It also offers Bounce Below, in slate caverns, where huge trampolines, stepladders, spiral ‘staircases’ and coloured lights provide an amazing subterranean environment kids (and adults) will love.

Leisure activities

Adventure Parc Snowdonia, near Conwy, delivers a host of activities, some relaxing, some less so! We’ll focus on the ‘less so’ with the ‘wave garden’ at Surf Snowdonia.

Here, a huge submerged blade whips up surfing waves, allowing participants to surf down the 300m-long pool.

Surf Snowdonia caters for learners and experts, as the size of the wave is controlled. Wetsuits are supplied, so you won’t feel the cold.

For something different…

Head to Farndale in the Yorkshire Dales to see a cascade of spring flowers. Known as the ‘Daffodil Dale’, this remote area offers a circular driving route and a 3.5-mile walk.
Pitch in Pickering/Kirkbymoorside, and park at Low Mill (YO62 7LA).

Bron Derw Touring Park, with caravans and motorhomes parked up

Just a hop from Snowdonia National Park is the lovely Bron Derw Touring Park. It’s made up of three separate sites, including one that’s adults only. You can also get more great campsite inspiration by heading to our best motorhome sites guide.
