If you’re looking to buy a van conversion for over £60,000, you’ll be entitled to expect a decent spec and layout. The Practical Motorhome Awards 2023 are here to help you find the right model for you, as we’ve picked out the standout option on the market, as well as revealing our shortlist.
This includes vehicles from some instantly recognisable names in the industry, including Hymer, Adria and more.
This year, we picked the Adria Twin Supreme 600SX as our winner – our judging panel loved the practicalities that the second lounge at the rear of the ‘van provides.
In this guide, you can see what we made of each option – you can also take a look at our best campervan guide for more ideas and inspiration.
The best van conversion over £60,000 is:
Adria Twin Supreme 600SX
- Price: £65,285
- Berth: 2
- MTPLM: 3500kg
- Shipping length: 5.99m
- Width: 2.05m
Reason to buy:
- Comfortable bed, clever second lounge
Reason to avoid:
- No oven
Available in eight different exterior colours, this smart van conversion sits on a Fiat base.
We think it’s an ideal choice for outdoor enthusiasts, with a sporty dinette on offer that boasts two travel seats in the bench and a clip-on table, as well as the option of swivelling the cab seats. We’re fans of the flexibility this table provides; you can also place it on the outside edge of the peninsula kitchen, perfect for a spot of outdoor eating.
Another of our favourite features in the van is the second lounge. The drop-down bed comes from the ceiling, but it doesn’t leave an empty space after rising. Instead, only part is raised, with the rest forming a daytime bench. It’s not going to be a sociable area, but we think it’s ideal for anyone who wants to carry out bike maintenance or similar.
A good washroom is a great finishing touch to the ‘van. It’s a Vario design, and once the partition is in place, you get a well-lit – albeit small – shower.

Shortlisted for the best van conversion over £60,000 are:
Pilote V633M
- Price: £66,400
- Berths: 4
- MTPLM: 3500kg
- MiRO: 2970kg
- Payload: 530kg
- Length: 6.36m
- Width: 2.05m
Reason to buy:
- Practical layout
Reason to avoid:
- Height, no oven or microwave
Its 2.80m height means you won’t get this ‘van beneath a standard barrier, but if that’s something that won’t put you off, you’re sure to find this a very practical option.
Outdoor lovers are bound to love the spacious rear area. This can be used to store kit, for bike repairs or for grooming canine companions – and that’s despite the drop-down bed.
The washroom provides plenty of space, with a toilet that can slide away, while that extra height means headroom is not a problem. The addition of this also gives you additional windows at the back, meaning the drop-down bed has its own windows.
The van also provides plenty of storage. For instance, the front dinette boasts large overhead lockers, while the cab has cubbyholes dotted throughout.

Burstner Eliseo C644
- Price: £62,795
- MTPLM: 3500kg
- Payload: 531kg
- MiRO: 2969kg
- Length: 6.36m
- Width: 2.08m
Reason to buy:
- Great space for a van conversion
Reason to avoid:
- Layout isn’t the most friendly for journey to site
Our winner of the best 4 berth motorhome category provides a truly spacious interior by van conversion standards.
The 6.36m model from Burstner is the first van conversion from the brand to include a drop-down bed over the rear lounge. We like how easy this can be accessed, with a ladder from the kitchen simplifying the process. You can then have two more sleep in the van’s rear lounge, where a bed can be set up.
That’s not all though – you also get an impressive half height garage. Found behind the back seat, it has enough space for a bicycle. As well as this, there’s a kitchen with a two-burner hob, a Vario washroom with a swinging partition and even room for a wardrobe.
Hymer Free S Blue Evolution
- Price: £79,920
- Berths: 4
- MTPLM: 3500kg
- Length: 5.93m
- Width: 2.06m
Reason to buy:
- Open-air shower, smart interior
Reason to avoid:
- The price
If you’re looking for a van conversion that can allow four of you to travel in comfort, this Hymer model is worth considering.
Coming with a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, this pop-top Hymer has an eye-catching blue exterior, which combines with black detail to create an eye-catching vehicle.
Then there’s the contemporary interior, where you’ll find a stylish two-tone grey fabric that is perfectly complemented by the dark wood finished floor covering. This is a well-lit space, thanks to the LED ambient lighting, while the four of you will be able to sit at the table, which also comes with a swing-out extension.
Another feature we really like is the open-air shower. The presence of a suction cup lets you attach the shower to the exterior, ideal if you need to give a muddy dog a wash or need a post-swim freshen-up.
