It's bright and reflective, but how does the Result R96X Max jacket perform when Practical Motorhome puts it to the test?

Price £56

Women’s and men’s versions No

Its bright-orange colour and reflective piping make this jacket more suited to cycling than most of the others, although the fabric’s lower level of breathability means that things can quickly become uncomfortably hot when you’re pedalling hard. The jacket does come with under-arm vents, which allow for some ventilation, but do reduce waterproofness. The fabric is reasonably flexible, and the fit is decent for both men and women. But the hood felt like a weak point to us: we found that its dimensions were awkward, so that when tightened it didn’t fit as well as we’d like. The peak around the hood didn’t feel big enough, either.

Verdict Three stars
