May 07: Gadgets to go
Hi-tech goodies can change your motorcaravanning lifestyle. Here are five new products to make your motorcaravanning even more fun

OVERVIEW AND DETAILED WRITE-UP FOR EACH PRODUCT, MAY BE FOUND IN THE MAY 07 ISSUE OF THE MAGAZINE.

Memories are made by this
£440
Admittedly the JVC Everio GZ-MG77 camcorder is not cheap, but it's not as pricey as many currently on the market. And, considering that this hardy and tiny piece of kit (it weighs only 370g) is easy to transport while also giving a sharp, well-defined image, it seems something of a bargain. If you're still unconvinced then mull over its whopping 30Gb memory, which will record up to seven hours of continuous family footage. Perhaps best of all, though, is the absence of those chunky VCR tapes, which can clutter up your 'van and get damaged in transit.

Hassle-free fresh coffee on the go
£165
There's nothing like the smell and taste of freshly made coffee. Yet, when you're on the road, it's all too easy to settle for a tepid cup of freeze-dried. Pamper yourself by indulging in this classy Italian coffee maker, the Gaggia Evolution 74559, which measures a compact 34 x 22 x 27cm (H x W x D). Using the Caffitaly System – an innovative method of packaging coffee in capsules – you'll be enjoying super-quick lattes, espressos and frothy cappucinos from the comfort of your rear fixed double.

Phone of the future
£TBA (available winter 2007)
Whatever mobile phone you currently take on tour, the new Apple iPhone is about to make it obsolete. The main reason being that it combines all your communication and multimedia needs into one handsome handset. Nestling in your palm at just 61 x 115mm the iPhone covers texting, calling, emailing and web browsing and has an 8Gb memory for storing your favourite music. Another handy feature is Apple's web-linked 'widgets': up-to-date clocks, maps, weather forecasts and more. It's so futuristic, in fact, that you can navigate your way through menus without even touching the screen – all you have to do is move your hand across it.

Re-charge from your PC
£13 for a pair
With these ingenious USBCell rechargeable batteries, you'll never be short of power again. All you need is a USB port, such as those found on most laptop PCs and you can charge them up anywhere in the world. That means you don't have to take up space, in your motorhome's lockers, storing additional chargers. And because you're not continually throwing away empty batteries, you can give yourself a big green pat on your environmentally-friendly back, too.

Send pix as postcards
£60
This clever little printer (measuring 17.8 x 12.5 x 6.3 cm) is ideal for motorcaravanners who spend a lot of time away from home. Digital cameras are great, but everyone likes to hold a hard copy of their memories. With the Canon Selphy CP720 it takes just seconds to print glossy photos from your digital camera's memory card, which you can then save in an album. And, because the ink dries instantly, there's no risk of smudging or getting sticky fingers. You can even get paper for the printer with a postcard design on the back, so you can send pictures of your adventures back home to your friends and loved-ones.
