PLEASE GIVE A warm welcome to The Tipple Inn (Wiltshire) and The Enmore Inn (Somerset) the latest pubs to join our Nightstops scheme!

Working closely with The Motor Caravanners’ Club, we have developed a small network of 39 Practical Motorhome/MCC Nightstops, each of which can legally host up to five motorhomes per night. All the sites are certificated locations (CLs); you don’t need to be a member of any club to use them.

It is up to the landowner or landlord to decide how much to charge per night, but it tends to be quite a modest fee. In the case of pubs there may be discount on the nightly fee if you’re buying a meal at the pub. The full list of current Nightstops appears in Practical Motorhome magazine every issue and you can see them plotted on our Nightstops map online, with phone numbers and post codes.

The Tipple Inn is in the High Street, Collingbourne Ducis, Marlborough SN8 3EQ. It’s situated between Andover and Marlborough, on the A338.

The gateway is 12 feet wide and facilities available are water, rubbish bins, toilet and washroom facilities. Dogs are allowed and there is an exercise area you can use for them. The Tipple Inn’s car park slopes gently and it’s hard standing. If you’d like to use The Tipple Inn motorhome Nightstop please ring 01264 850050 between 9am and 6pm to check availability. The normal nightly fee is £6 per night (August 2014). The pub is closed on Tuesdays.

Practical Motorhome’s Nightstops Scheme welcomes The Tipple Inn!

The Tipple Inn Nightstop makes an ideal stopover for anyone touring Wiltshire in their motorhome. Close to here you could visit the famous standing stones at Stonehenge and Avebury. Visit Salisbury, from here, too, with its wonderful shops, cathedral and Old Sarum, an Iron Age Hill fort with a Roman past. Highclere Castle (‘The real Downton Abbey’) is close to here as well. There are walks and cycle routes near The Tipple Inn, and golf within five miles.

The Enmore Inn in rural Somerset has also just become a motorhome Nightstop. The Enmore Inn is in Enmore Lane, Enmore, Somerset TA5 2AH. If you’d like to stay here, please ring Emma Twigg on 01278 433858 between 11am and 10pm to check availability.

The entrance is 10m wide and the Nightstop is a flat site with hard standing. Facilities offered here are a toilet, water and rubbish bins. Dogs are allowed and there is an exercise area you can use for them. It’s a very quiet location, with a shop within four miles, fishing within quarter of a mile and golf within half a mile. The pub is in a rural country lane with views across the open countryside and there are plenty of walks.

To get to The Enmore Inn leave the M5 at junction 23, take A39/A38 to Bridgewater. Follow signs for Minehead as you enter town, then signs for Durleigh and Enmore. Turn left at the traffic lights just past Morrisons supermarket, signposted Enmore 4

miles. At Durleigh take the left turn for Enmore and Bishops Lydeard. The Enmore Inn is 3

miles further, on the left.
