Our Motorhome Channel TV special features exciting new motorhomes, accessories and more highlights from the recent show at the NEC Birmingham

There is no way you want to miss our brand new TV show, broadcast exclusively on The Motorhome Channel, sponsored by Motorhome Depot. Why? Because it’s a Motorhome and Caravan Show TV special, filmed at the recent show at Birmingham’s NEC.

Andy Harris takes a look round the Sun Living Flexo SP. Never heard of Sun Living? Well, this is actually an Adria Twin, but with the door on what us Brits would regard as the ‘wrong’ side, because it’s been designed for use on the Continent. This and a few other tweaks mean it’s a lot cheaper than its Adria counterpart. How much can you save? Tune in to our TV show on Sky 192, Freesat 402 and live online to get the full story.

Speaking of which, Practical Motorhome’s Editor Niall Hampton has also been at the NEC Birmingham and he’s reviewed an Adria Twin – the 500S model, to be precise. This campervan sits on a wheelbase that is a mere five metres long and features a number of clever touches to make living in such compact dimensions easier – there is even a washroom.

Like the Adria Twin 500S, the Auto Campers Leisure Van has doors on both sides, and Niall couldn’t resist taking a look at this ‘van either. Based on the Ford Tourneo, this is a very flexible campervan that can accommodate a range of configurations to cater for the needs of different users – find out more in our NEC show special, only on The Motorhome Channel.

Stepping into a ‘van of much larger proportions, Niall also brings us a review of a special edition of the Chausson Sweet Family. It has an unusual, island kitchen layout that creates a great sociable space inside the motorhome. Based on the 2015 Fiat Ducato, the Chausson Sweet Family has an electrically operated drop-down bed at the front. Get the full story in our TV show.

Elddis kept its 2015 ‘vans under wraps, but in our NEC show TV special, join Practical Motorhome’s Niall inside the new Accordo which gives you a lot of style and kit for the money (£38.349 OTR).

Also new is the Elddis Encore range, which replaces the Aspire for 2015. The 255 model was the first to be unveiled at the show and if you missed it, let Niall show you around. With its fixed rear bed and corner washroom, a separate oven and grill, a smart, circular sink and a tall fridge, there’s plenty to see.

Are you after something a little different? How about the world’s first production electric campervan? Also on display at the NEC Birmingham was the Nissan e-NV200 based Dalbury E from Hillside Leisure. You can go 106 miles between charges, and it is a smart conversion from a well regarded converter – tune in on Freest 402, Sky 192 or watch the show live online to find out more.

Niall also reviews the Mercedes-Benz Vito based Horizon MCV (Multi Concept Vehicle). It has a pop-top roof and an electrically operated rock and roll bed, and with sliding doors on both sides it offers great flexibility – it even comes with two awnings, a wind-out one and a drive-away awning.

We recently reviewed the Lunar Landstar RL, but if you watch our new TV show, you can see another new layout from Lunar, the Landstar EW, which was also on display in Birmingham. It’s a ‘van with a rear washroom and a central lounge, that will set you back a little under £50,000 – or you can pay even more for the S version. Niall’s on hand to explain the difference and what that extra outlay gets you – watch our show for full details.

The cute little Murvi Pimento is also in the spotlight with our Editor Niall. This 2015 ‘van, based on the Ford Transit, is a very thoughtful conversion, providing great access, which will be an advantage for wheelchair bound motorcaravanners.

Of course, besides motorhomes, there are loads of accessories at shows such as these and Andy Harris has spotted some gems. How about the innovative Froli wheel leveller, or a device that allows you to check the charge of your motorhome’s leisure battery from your smartphone?

Tune in to The Motorhome Channel on satellite TV – Sky 192 or Freesat 402 – or live online from 27 October to 9 November 2014, at these times:

  • Mondays at 8.30pm
  • Wednesdays at 5.30pm
  • Thursdays at 6am
  • Saturdays at 11am
  • Sundays at 11am

We hope you enjoy the show!
