SUMMER MIGHT BE fading but in our new show on The Motorhome Channel, sponsored by Motorhome Depot, we’ve got lots of reasons to be excited and to inspire you to get out on the road all year round.

You can find The Motorhome Channel on Freesat 402 and on Sky 192, and our programmes are broadcast 10 times across a fortnightly period. If you have no access to Sky and Freesat channels, you don’t need to miss the show. Instead, watch live online – just click here. So even if you have no satellite dish you’ve got no excuse to not watch – and with our packed new show, you won’t want to miss it.

The show starts with Practical Motorhome’s Editor Niall Hampton talking about panel van conversions. He is reviewing the Shire Phoenix 2XL Studio Twin, built by the Leeds based firm Shire Conversions. Now with a twin single bed option, giving great flexibility, this is a very customisable motorhome – in fact, this example has a digitally controlled wine cooler!

The Shire Phoenix 2XL Studio Twin is based on the Fiat Ducato, is 6.4 metres long, has a thoughtfully designed end washroom, and a well specified kitchen with a neat cutlery drainer built into the lid of the sink. It also has a wind-out awning and reversing sensors. Find out why Niall thinks this £46,950 ‘van is an excellent option for wheelchair-bound motorcaravanners in our new TV show.

It’s then time for a tale which might inspire your future tours. Andy Harris meets a couple who’ve owned their Hymer since 2000, when it had 40,000 miles on the clock. It’s their first motorhome and they’ve travelled right across Europe in it – they’ve even been to Morocco a number of times. It has now covered 175,000 miles and is still going strong. Its owner shares her top tips for adventurous touring and is full of admiration for the abilities of their 1993 S700 Hymer.

You will not want to miss our Niall’s review of the brand new for 2015 Swift Esprit 494, with its new and stylish Fiat cab. This four-berth, £47,895 motorhome’s extra width over its predecessor gives excellent space for the rear transverse mounted island bed. This inviting sleeping area has lovely ambient lighting and decent storage, too. Moving into the kitchen area, there’s a microwave, an oven and grill, and a new sink, and while the midships washroom is compact, it has all you could need. Watch our TV show on Sky 192, Freesat 402 or live online to get inside this brand new Swift motorhome.

But that’s not all. In this TV show we’re really spoiling you with a third ‘van review – Niall is back and he is reviewing a Volkswagen California. It’s a smart, attractive, well made, compact camper with bags of style and character, but what does our Editor make of it? Be sure to watch our TV show on The Motorhome Channel, sponsored by Motorhome Depot, to find out.

Then it’s Andy who makes a return, meeting a gentleman who’s a first timer in a borrowed ‘van. Mark, a complete motorcaravanning novice, has an Auto-Trail Apache on loan from his father-in-law and tells Andy and us how he and his daughter have got on during their first tour – perhaps it will inspire a few more to get out there?
