FROM THE BEST experiences of his epic Florida fly-drive motorhome holiday to the worst, Andy Harris always entertains us on TV.

In the latest episode of The Motorhome Channel we take a peek inside a US RV accessory shop, find out if American RVers ‘wave’ at each other on the road, as we do, and take a look at Winnebago conversion of a Dodge Promaster van – which is a Fiat Ducato by another name.

Spot the difference – Andy Harris looks at American RV accessories

Although he doesn’t normally bother with campsites, Andy decided to break with his own tradition and pay for a bit of luxury after a night in a Walmart car park. As a result, he gives us the best and the worst of US campsites on camera. After showing us one pristine and lovely campsite with excellent facilities and spacious pitches, he then treats us to a quick fly-on-the-wall look at another campsite’s washroom from hell.

The wildlife in Florida is rather different from the gentle creatures we love and admire here in the UK. Andy discovers he’d better keep his wits about him during a walk in a park.

Back in Britain, we’re taking a look at some of the best new motorhomes on the market for 2014. Editor Niall Hampton reviews an Auto-Sleeper Broadway EK, a luxury overcab coachbuilt from the legendary British motorhome manufacturer. Based in the Cotswolds, Auto-Sleepers is part of the Auto-Sleepers Group, which also owns the Marquis dealer network, with its 11 branches nationwide, especially in the Midlands, central and southern England. This means you shouldn’t have to drive too far if Niall’s motorhome reviews inspire you to check out the brand for yourself.

Buying a motorhome is an exciting step for anyone and the investment represents a commitment to quality time and a bid for freedom from the humdrum side of life. Andy Harris meets a couple who’ve bought a classic, a secondhand 1978 Hymer A-class motorhome for just a shade over £3000.

Next, we take a tour of the Yorkshire-born Euro-Treka I with Practical Motorhome’s Editor Niall Hampton. Our motorhome expert reviews this new 2014 ‘van from Moto-Trek. With three models in its line-up, priced from almost £66k to £68,499, this Holmfirth-based motorhome manufacturer is clearly offering something special here. The Euro-Treka features a motorised slide-out section, rather like the big imported American RVs. Find out what we think of it on TV.
