Practical Motorhome revealed its Top 100 Sites for motorcaravans at an exclusive award ceremony during the Spring Caravan and Camping Show.

The Top 100 Sites guide book is available free of charge with the May 2013 issue of the Practical Motorhome magazine, which goes on sale 14 March 2013, but in a sneak preview here, we’re able to reveal the sites and winners from the national categories: Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Rushin House

(below) in Co Fermanagh clinched the national award for Northern

Ireland, but owner Cathal O’Dolan told us they owed a

lot to Top 100 rivals Ballyness Caravan Park

in Co Antrim. “We got a lot of help and advice from Ballyness Caravan

Park when we started. They set the standard that we aspired to.”

Cathal’s

reckoning that spotless facilities are the key to running a successful

site was confirmed by one of his guests, who told him: “You have a

fantastic location and the scenery is lovely, but if the washrooms were

dirty, none of that would matter.” Cathal adds: “We have a very loyal

customer base, people take pride in the park.”

Scotland’s nine finalists were:

Beecraigs Caravan Park

Foresterseat Caravan Park

Grantown-on-Spey Caravan Park, The Highlands

Kippford Holiday Park, Kirkcudbrightshire

Luss C&CC Site

Lochside Caravan & Camping Site

Muasdale Holiday Park, Argyll
