The Great North Caravan & Motorhome Show returns at the end of this month, and runs for nine days at family-run dealership Catterick Caravans.

The spring show follows on from last autumn’s successful inaugural event, which saw more than £1m of orders placed. This year, more than 200 models will be on display at the North Yorkshire-based dealer site, with doors open from Saturday 30 April to Sunday 8 May 2011.

“The turnout at the first show was unprecedented and this has influenced our decision to run another event in April this year,” said Catterick’s Matthew Kinsell. “The north of England is desperately in need of a show of this magnitude, with top caravan, motorhome and accessory brands all backing this northern show.”

A lot has happened since last year: Catterick bought an additional three acres of land next door to its existing five-acre site, creating what our Nick Harding described in the October 2010 issue of Practical Motorhome as a new “eight-acre super-site that offers everything for the great outdoors”.

Crucially for motorhome fans, the restructure means Catterick now offers a bigger and better display of new and used motorhomes. New motorhome brands available include Swift’s Escape and Mondial ranges, and more recently Catterick has added the Roller Team brand to its line-up. Catterick also offers a retro VW campervan restoration service.

“We’ve found that customers who have been coming to us for years to buy their caravans do on occasion migrate over to motorhomes, and we haven’t been able to offer a good choice in this department until now,” said Matthew.
