The Master has a long and illustrious history in the motorhome world, having underpinned popular models from the likes of Dethleffs and Auto-Trail. The all-new Master, which was launched earlier this year, features excellent refinement and a top-notch cabin.

At the Master’s initial launch Renault pledged to improve its suitability as a motorhome base, and at Düsseldorf the first fruits of this undertaking were on display. The low-frame chassis will allow motorhome manufacturers increased flexibility in terms of the heights of their habitation bodies, and Renault has also worked with chassis specialists AL-KO to produce special motorhome chassis extensions for the Master.

Back-to-back cabs are more of a logistical improvement; the cabs are bolted together at the Renault factory, facing opposite ways, ready to be sent out to motorhome builders for fitting suitable chassis extensions. This halves the time and expense of transportation and helps improve motorhome manufacturers’ overheads and turnaround times.
