Kelling Heath Holiday Park has earned a gold award for its environmentally-friendly efforts.

The Green Tourism Business Scheme granted the award to the Norfolk site following its work to safeguard its local environment and the reduction of the impact the site has on the local environment. The scheme focuses on ensuring Britain is leading the way in ‘green’ tourism and Kelling Heath is at the forefront.

Among other achievements, Kelling Heath has set up its own ‘Green Team’ who are in charge of all things environmental on site. An example of their work is the installation of a bio-diesel processor which converts all the waste vegetable oil used by the site into oil that can be reused to power the site’s maintenance vehicles and machinery.

Ian Hancon, CEO of Kelling Heath’s parent company, says: “Our park is about providing a back-to-nature experience. It’s not only a quality destination to visit, but it is as green behind the scenes as it is in front of them!”
