Manoir de Ker An Poul

This well-kept site is worthy of great praise. The facilities are in good condition with large, flat, grassy, hedge-marked pitches. Quite a few of them
are shaded from the sun by attractive trees and foliage, and roadways criss-cross the site.
The entrance to the site features impressive turreted architecture. A friendly French welcome awaits you on arrival. The staff are all very helpful
and are able to provide information about local attractions and places of interest.
There are free hot showers in the purpose-built sanitary blocks. Usefully, washing machines and dryers are provided, for which tokens can be purchased at reception.
A machine wash will cost you approximately €4.50.
Other facilities include a clean, invitingly warm swimming pool, and ample activities on hand including pétanques, table tennis, and badminton for those who enjoy sports. There's a play area for the children, and a television room for those rainy days.
In season, this site is probably exceptionally busy but out of season, when we visited, the relaxed atmosphere was ideal for a peaceful stay.
This park is set in the grounds of a 13th-century manor house and is only 600 yards (as the crow flies) from the beach. During the season, the little site shops are open: there is a grocer, a baker, and a bar in which to quench your thirst.
A swipe card, obtained on arrival, operates the site security barriers. These are out of operation between 10:30pm and 7am, so there is no traffic around the site during these hours.
Overall, this is a pleasant place at which to stay when visiting nearby attractions, such as the surrounding marinas and ports and the fine beaches that line
the Gulf of Morbihan, south west of Rennes.

you can explore the many islands and bays on a motorboat excursion from Auray, Vannes, Locmariaquer or Port-Navalo
(tel 0033 02 97 46 60 00). For
a spectacular bird's eye view though, you can fly over the gulf in a light aircraft with the Aeroclub de Vannes-Meucon.

Only 35 miles from Sarzeau you will find Carnac and its megalithic stones. Although examples of megaliths can be found throughout Europe, their concentration in Carnac has made the area famous. The site extends all the way from Carnac to the village of Locmariaquer. The standing stones vary in height between a dinky one metre and an awesome 20 metres in height. Website
