Olonne Sur Mer

Despite its reputation, this site (pictured below) was looking rather run down when we visited, out of season in mid September. It has a variety of facilities that look well used, including two cold outdoor swimming pools with a number of water slides. These slides are only in use occasionally, though. There's a sauna, a small indoor heated pool, a small gym, tennis court, table tennis, mini-golf course, pétanque area, and trampolines for young children.
If you prefer less sporty pursuits you can watch telly
in the dedicated TV room, or enjoy a drink in the bar and dinner in the on-site restaurant. There is a shop for provisions,
but it is closed out of season.
Pitches are spacious, under the shade of trees, and mostly level. The sanitary facilities, in a purpose built block, feature powerful, free, hot showers, hand basins, kitchen sinks, toilets,
a baby bath, toilets for the disabled, and a washing room with tumble dryer and irons.
Security barriers at the site entrance safeguard your
well-being. The gates are closed between 11pm and 7am, which ensures no vehicle movement around the campsite during these times, and therefore a good night's sleep.
The site is close to the beautiful expanse of beaches
at Les Sables D'Olonne. The area also has a variety of unique shops and restaurants/cafés.
Attractions The most appealing local off-site attraction is Les Sables D'Olonne. It features miles of beaches and a rugged coastline to explore, as well as 1200 hectares of forest, teeming with wildlife. Contact: Office de Tourisme des Sables D'Olonne.
