Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park
Website: www.bathchewvalley.co.uk

This small, adults-only site (pictured, right) is lovingly cared for by owners Ray and Val Betton. Thoughtful touches abound, such as free, pick-your-own herbs, a tiny library, plants and ironwork for sale, and classical music piped into the washblock.
The site holds a David Bellamy Gold Award for its environmentally friendly practices and wildlife-rich habitat. The surrounding area is great for birdwatching, walking and cycling, and keen fishermen will be encouraged to try the nearby trout fishing in the Bath Chew Valley or Blagdon Lakes.
Resisting the temptation to expand beyond 35 pitches, Ray and Val aim to provide a quiet and restorative experience for couples and their dogs, who can stretch their paws along the Pup's Parade. You will be assisted in pitching your 'van to ensure that the grass verge to the access road is not damaged; for the same reason, groundsheets are not permitted on grass pitches. But overall, this is a relaxed and welcoming site.
Bath Chew Valley attracts a good deal of returning clients, who take advantage of the frequent discounts. It is a popular small site so advance booking is recommended throughout the year.
