Binghams Farm Touring Park
Website: www.binghamsfarm.co.uk
Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Binghams Farm has everything you need for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. There's an abundance of trees, shrubs and flowers, while the Brit River provides the natural boundary on the western edge of this 26-acre site. You can enjoy a gentle stroll along the riverbanks through the scenic Brit Valley.
If you prefer coastal walks, then West Bay, with its romantic harbour and dramatic cliffs, is only three miles to the south. It is part of the West Dorset coastline known as the 'Jurassic Coast' because of all the fossils found along its shores and hidden in its cliffs. It's a fascinating area that's designated as a World Heritage Site.
There are few leisure amenities at this adults-only site, but the bustling town of Bridport, with its famous Saturday markets, street theatre and band parades, is just two miles away. There is also a supermarket just two minutes from the site.
If you want to leave the cooking to someone else, then pay a visit to Bingham's Bistro on the first floor of a converted barn, which offers delicious home-cooked food. The building also houses the reception as well as the washing facilities. Overall, this rural idyll is perfect for adults who want to unwind.
Palmers Thatched Brewery
Bingham's Farm is only three miles from this 200-year-old brewery. During the tour you can sample some of Palmers' Golden Cap Whisky. The visit concludes with a tasting in the boardroom, which gives you a chance to try the range of beer.
