Beaconsfield Farm Touring Park
Website: www.beaconsfield-farm.co.uk
The three-quarter-mile drive to this adults-only site will set the tone for your stay. It winds past fields dotted with sheep and a pond surrounded by rushes before arriving at this lakeside park.
Visitors to Beaconsfield will be impressed by its high standards. Passion and enthusiasm have gone into every aspect. The facilities are second to none, and include spacious and well-thought-out washing facilities for the disabled.
The indoor pool has an open session every morning (separate tariff) and may be booked by the hour during the afternoon. A small coffee-and-cake shop adjoins this area, where you can relax after
a refreshing dip. The cosy Bothy Restaurant has a deck for those balmy summer evenings. À la carte meals are prepared by the resident chef, with extended opening hours during the high season. Sunday lunches prove very popular. A frequent park-and-ride bus service will take you into Shrewsbury.
Wroxeter Roan Vineyard
Beaconsfield Farm is nine miles from the vineyard based at the plateau of the Roman city of Viroconium. Visitors are encouraged to stroll around the vineyard and taste the wine (the entire site has disabled access). The shop sells wine and other local foods. Open all year, 9am-5:30pm every day, except Sunday and bank holidays.
