The moment you drive into this wonderful countryside site you know that it's a bit special. It is situated on the edge of the small village of Pencelli, and the owners, Gerwyn and Liz Rees, live in an ancient house that was once part of the original castle. The warm welcome they extend to their guests is a foretaste of the treats in store on the site and in its surroundings.
The end wall of the reception block is decorated with awards; the word 'immaculate' may be over-used, but nothing else does justice to what you will find here. The pitches are enormous – 160 square metres should be enough for everyone – and the site's three separate fields are very well maintained, with close-cut grass and excellent services.
Pencelli is popular with those who enjoy hill-walking; add to this the magnificent views of the Brecon Beacons and direct access to excellent canal-side walks, and you can easily see why so many guests opt to return to the site time after time; silence pervades across the site.
The owners have produced a short nature trail leaflet with its own guide and there is a lovely deer enclosure alongside the site. The village of Pencelli
is right on your doorstep and the local pub is reachable too.
