Southland Camping Park
Website: www.southland.co.uk
Open 9 April–30 September
If you are after a peaceful, friendly setting for your holiday on the Isle of Wight, look no further than Southland Camping Park. This wonderful site is tucked away in lovely countryside and suffers no traffic noise. There is a sense that you are miles away from anywhere, even though it is only three miles from Sandown and the beaches of the South Coast.
Southland also benefits from first-class facilities such as a free wireless internet service so you can easily keep in touch with the outside world. The pitches are divided into informal sections
by trees and shrubs that provide considerable privacy, giving the feeling that you are in an attractive garden, with just a few other 'vans.
The site's landscaping is meticulous and there is always someone working on the hedges, borders, or grass. And, with consideration typical of the management, any noisy work is confined to the middle of the day so as not to disturb the peace.
On the western side of the
park there is a two-acre picnic and conservation area, affording a glorious view across the Arreton Valley.
Southland's owners Viv and Vanessa McGuiness – who live
on site – are committed to their visitors and are always available to help them enjoy a perfect stay.
For beautiful flora in an historic setting, Osborne House is nearby. To enjoy a family day out, take a trip to the Needles Park at Alum Bay.
20 miles to The Needles.
