Hillhead Holiday Park
Website: www.caravanclub.co.uk
Hillhead is a beautiful site with superb facilities and is an ideal base for a garden tour of Devon. As ever, the Caravan Club sets the standards when it comes to washing amenities but what best sells this site is its beautiful views across Brixham Bay. The views can be enjoyed from the dog walk or the kiddies' play area – not that they'll bother about scenery with a play fort and skateboard ramp to enjoy.
The operation of other facilities, located to one side of the main entrance, are contracted out. They comprise an extensive complex that features a large two-part swimming pool, with a toddlers' paddling pool and a bigger swimming area, along
with a terrace adjacent to the restaurant. There's also a bar, an entertainment area with a games room and a Spar shop, all surrounding an open-air patio.
In high season, a varied programme of entertainment is organised for adults and children.
Don't forget your levelling blocks, though: not only are pitches smaller than usual for Club sites, but around 50 of them are set on slightly sloping ground.
