The Plassey Leisure Park
Website: www.theplassey.co.uk
Situated in Wales' picturesque Dee Valley, this is a site with
a difference. It features a series of Edwardian farm buildings, converted to house superb facilities including craft shops and boutiques, a real-ale brewery, a farmhouse ice-cream shop, a garden centre and a beauty salon. All are set in gardens with sumptuous views.
There is plenty to keep children occupied: an indoor heated swimming pool, a games room, and table-tennis. Other facilities include a sauna, golf, and two miles' worth of nature trails, plus two club houses and a licensed restaurant on site.
Set within 250 acres of farmland, the pitches on this family-owned site are spacious and level. Trees, shrubs and hedges are strategically placed around the site to lend a peaceful feel to the area.
The centrally heated amenity building boasts facilities for the disabled along with individual washrooms. There are two more amenity blocks and a shower facility located elsewhere.
Additionally, off-site, local attractions range from castles at Chirk, Powys, Beaumaris and Caernarfon to steeplechases
at Bangor-on-Dee and horse-drawn barge trips along the Llangollen canal. You can also sample the delights of the nearby historic cities of Chester (16 miles away) and Shrewsbury (25 miles distant).
For an all-action break, Plassey Leisure Park must be the perfect site.
