Cornish Farm Touring Park
Website: www.cornishfarm.com
This is a tranquil site for those who simply want to experience life in the country, surrounded by sheep and fields. Although it has minimal facilities – no pool, specific children's play area or shop – it is obvious that great care has been taken in the planning and building of the site. The owner and staff are really friendly and work hard at keeping the facilities immaculately clean.
The site is located just two miles from the centre of Taunton, which has a castle and museum, and excellent shops, pubs and restaurants. Visitors will appreciate being able to walk into town – alternatively they can take advantage of the excellent cycle path.
But if you are feeling less energetic there is a bus stop about half a mile away, from where you can catch a bus into the city centre.
Although this is a peaceful site, its proximity to the M5 means that a certain amount of road noise is inevitable.
Travelling to the North Somerset coast is easy, and visitor attractions such as Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury and Wookey Hole are close by.
Hestercombe Gardens Hestercombe, and its Grade I listed gardens, is just five miles from the site. There are over 40 acres of landscape gardens with woodland walks, and great views across the vale of Taunton to the Blackdown Hills. Entry is £6.60 and the gardens open all year.
