Bainland
Website: www.bainland.co.uk

Bainland Country Park is a pristine site run with enormous dedication and enthusiasm by its staff, whose personal application shows throughout the site. The large pitches are all beautifully maintained, most are screened by neat mature hedges, and all are within easy reach of the spotless washblocks.
The privacy of the pitches gives you the option to completely remove yourself from the wide range of activities available on site – although it would be a shame to miss them. There's a superb indoor swimming pool including a sauna and a jacuzzi, an 18-hole golf course, an all-weather bowling green, and croquet. All can be used for a small additional charge.
Just down the road is the town of Woodhall Spa, renowned for its Edwardian architecture, and Tattershall Castle is a short drive. The Park is set in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds. so there is plenty of enjoyable but easy walking to be had.
This is a superb site for motorcaravanners seeking well organised but relaxing holidays.
Lincoln Cathedral
 • This cathedral is one of the finest medieval buildings in Europe. It was originally built in 1072, and stands grandly on the city's central hill and is 24 miles away from the site. The Cathedral library houses historically significant manuscripts, but it's also worth visiting to admire the striking architecture. Tel 01522 544544. Web www.lincolncathedral.com.
