Bryn Gloch Caravan Park

When former builder Lestyn Jones and his family won the coveted '2005 AA Best Campsite in Wales' award, it was a fitting tribute to the holiday haven they have developed in the hills of North Wales, close to Caernarfon and Mount Snowdon
The key to their success has been the continuous development of their 28 acres along the banks of the River Gwyrfai, sandwiched between the 2290ft Mynydd Mawr and the 2382ft Moel Eilio mountain ranges. The site is well signposted along the A4085, and protected with push-button coded barriers and CCTV.
Before the 2006 season got underway, further development was planned to improve
facilities for visitors on this
five-field site. The four washblocks have already been upgraded, and there are now attractions as diverse as a narrow-gauge steam railway and a dog-walking area that circles a nature reserve
along the River Gwyrfai. There is also a shop, games room and children's play area.
Of the 180 pitches, 120 have their own water, drainage and electricity supply and 100 are on hardstanding. But the site's biggest selling point is the surrounding countryside. All in all
Bryn Gloch makes an ideal holiday base in rugged North Wales.
Sygun Copper Mine For an unusual subterranean family day out, travel underground to the Sygun Copper Mine. It is situated in the glorious Gwynant Valley part of the Snowdonia National Park. It's eight miles from the site and costs £7.95 for adults and £5.95 for children.
