Abbey Farm Caravan Park
Website: www.abbeyfarmcaravanpark.co.uk
Located on the site of the
12th-century Burscough Priory, Abbey Farm provides a haven of rural tranquillity and is just a couple of miles from the busy market town of Ormskirk.
Well signposted and easily accessible from the M6 and M58, this six-acre site is approached by a short,
single-track road with a large passing bay.
The site is divided into five separate camping fields. All pitches are spacious, flat, well-drained grass sites suitable for motorhomes. There are ten fully serviced pitches but all others have electric hook-up and water close at hand.
The toilet facility buildings are modern, fully tiled and include combined shower, toilet and
washbasin suites. There are also very large units for families and those with a disability and additional bath and baby changing facilities are also provided. Like the rest of the site, these are maintained in pristine condition and the showers provide unlimited hot water.
The two play areas and very large playing field provide ample space for youngsters to burn up their energy safely, without disturbing the tranquillity of the main campsite.
Abbey Farm is ten miles from Aintree racecourse, world-famous home of the Grand National. Tickets are on sale now for the 2007 John Smith's Grand National race, 12-14 April. Tel 0151 523 2600. Web www.aintree.co.uk.
