Baltic Wharf CC Site

It is easier to approach this site from the city centre in terms of getting a large 'van through the gates easily. However, there are roadworks in Bristol city centre so beware of traffic diversions. Works are set to be completed by October 2007. This city-based site feels like it's in the countryside. Although it is overlooked on one side by houses, the river creates an impression of peace. Handily, a taxi service is available a few yards from the site entrance. The wardens Mike and Jackie keep the site in "apple pie order", as the visitors book confirms, with facilities kept clean and tidy. All who explore Bristol will be spoilt for choice, whether they are looking for fun or adventure. The Explore-At-Bristol and Wildwalk-At-Bristol attractions are inspiring, and there is an IMAX cinema. And, Bristol has more than it's fare share of theatres and shops. An open-top bus leaves from just in front of the site. If you have any energy left after sightseeing, shopping and exploring, you can have a relaxing drink to round off the day at the Cottage pub, just 200 yards from the campsite.
 • It is only two miles from the site to the Clifton Suspension Bridge Centre. The bridge spans the beautiful Avon Gorge and visitors flock to this Grade I listed structure to marvel at the views. Tel 0117 974 4664. Web www.clifton-suspension-bridge.org.uk.
