Drumaheglis Marina Park
Website: www.ballymoney.gov.uk

This council-run site at Drumaheglis Marina is set on one of the few access points to the River Bann, and its standards are first-rate. The main attraction of the site is its location adjacent to the marina, where visitors can take advantage of the many watersports on offer, while the River Bann itself is great for fishing and canoeing. It's also within easy reach of Coleraine, Ballymoney and Portrush.
Divided into three areas by hedges and well-maintained flowerbeds, Drumaheglis offers a choice between quiet pitches near the river and, for families, pitches further from the water's edge and closer to the children's play area. Pitches are separated from each other by neat stretches of grass.
Wherever you choose to locate your tourer, you'll find that each pitch enjoys the luxury of its own fresh water point. Sanitary facilities are very well maintained and include toilets, showers, four family bathrooms, plus full provision for disabled users.
Security is also excellent, with a coded barrier and gate. Friendly staff and attention to detail are the icing on the cake for this delightful and unusual site, to which many visitors return year after year.
 • Good head for heights? You could try crossing the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, 21 miles from the site. It links rocky islands to the Northern Irish cliffs and is a great spot for bird watchers. It's open all year and a crossing costs £2.50 for adults and £1.30 for children.
