If location is everything, then Castlerigg Hall Caravan and Camping Park has it all. From the terraced pitches of this beautiful site, visitors can enjoy stunning views over Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite, and the fells that surround them. The smart little market town of Keswick is just a short drive away and boasts all the shops and amenities you will need during your stay.
Castlerigg's facilities are all exceptionally impressive, helping to create the feel of a smart country club. On top of this, the staff are really friendly and helpful. As well as giving you a comprehensive information pack on arrival, they will take the time to direct you to your pitch. The site has a well-stocked shop and there are plans to extend it so that it can sell camping and caravanning accessories in addition to groceries.
There is a good hotel next to the site entrance, so you won't have far to go if you want an evening meal. Walkers are well catered for, with updates on weather conditions on the mountains and valleys posted up on site. The magnificent scenery of lakes and fells, together with the peace and quiet of the location, give you the perfect place for adventure or relaxation.
 • Whether high- or low-season, you can enjoy a cruise on Ullswater, one of the beautiful Cumbrian lakes, aboard one of two 19th-century boats. Ullswater Steamers is 16 miles from the site and cruises cost from £4.60 to £10.30, depending on where you sail to and from.
