Old Brick Kilns Touring Park
Website: www.old-brick-kilns.co.uk
The North Norfolk coast is
a popular destination for motorcaravanners, Its pretty villages are enhanced by elegant Georgian buildings, and this site certainly manages to capture some of that historic air.
The Old Brick Kilns Touring Park takes its name from the brick-drying shed that was converted to form the reception and restaurant. The dinign room is spacious, and the chef makes good use of locally produced ingredients. There is a neat and tidy shop next to the reception that stocks most of the items you are likely to need on a day-to-day basis, including a wide selection of newspapers. Towards the centre
of the park is a scenic fishing pond, spanned by a rustic bridge.
One quirk of this site is that
a Caravan Club CL is incorporated into a secluded corner of it.
In keeping with the rest of the location, its five roomy pitches
are of a very high standard, and have all the necessary facilities close to hand.
You will need to take care when turning into the Old Brick Kilns site, because the 800m access lane is on the narrow side and, despite the inclusion of several passing places, two 'vans might have problems passing each other safely. However, the site owners have mostly succeeded in solving this problem by use of a 'tidal flow' system. All outgoing outfits must be clear of the park by midday, and incoming guests are asked not to arrive until after 1pm.
Langham Glass, offers glassblowing demonstrations and glassware for sale. It is eight miles away. Tel 01328 830511.
