Rudding Park
Website: www.ruddingpark.com

This site forms part of the 50-acre Rudding Park complex, which also offers an 18-hole golf course, a heated outdoor swimming pool and two restaurants. With its numerous facilities, its aim is to provide a completely self-contained holiday experience, and in this it succeeds admirably.
The touring area is laid out imaginatively. The walled garden area and the grass terrace at the rear of the site are particularly attractive and offer a little extra space, although all the pitches are reasonably generous in size.
There are two toilet/shower facilities positioned on either side of the touring area. If you take one of the pitches on the rear grass terrace you will have a bit of a walk to reach them, but many people prefer to be away from the hustle and bustle surrounding the amenities.
All of the attractions of North Yorkshire are within an easy drive, but there is little reason to venture outside this park.
As well as the golf course (available on a 'pay and play' basis) and driving range, there are two children's play areas, parkland walks, a games room and a pub that serves traditional bar food. Better still, the pub backs onto the outdoor heated pool, sun terrace and children's paddling pool. And if you are looking for a special treat, the Rudding Park Hotel also has an à la carte restaurant.
 • 19 miles to the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television. This Yorkshire landmark focuses on interactive exhibits, so is fun as well as informative. Open Tuesday to Sunday 10am to 6pm, closed Monday.
