Home Farm Caravan Park
Website: www.homefarm-anglesey.co.uk

All you can see of this park on arrival at Marian-Glas, at the east side of Anglesey, is an intriguingly long drive. But take the last bend and this well-hidden site suddenly unfolds in front of you, making you realise that you've arrived `somewhere very special.
There are solar panels on the toilet facility building, boats neatly stacked behind a stout fence, flowers in the washblocks, well-tended hedges between many of the spacious pitches, a magnificent indoor playroom and a dedicated perimeter dog-walk. All these special touches indicate caring and sensitive ownership.
Walking around this gently sloping and immaculately maintained site you'll appreciate the sense of space. The park can accommodate 98 tourers (44 of them on de-luxe pitches), but the cleverly sub-divided areas have an intimate feel.
The toilet facilities are about as good as they come: in fact, Home Farm has won the five 'Loo of the Year' awards.
Just down the road from the site is Traeth Bychan horseshoe bay, which is ideal for boating, bathing, fishing or walking the coastal paths – it's a great place to let your dog run loose. Around the headland are Benllech and Red Wharf Bay where the first Land Rover was designed. Further north is RAF Valley, training ground for Royal Air Force pilots.
 • For superb views over Snowdonia, go to Penrhyn Castle, in Bangor. It's 16 miles from Home Farm and as well as the gorgeous gardens it also has some unusual museums. There are dolls and railway artefacts, plus a unique art collection.
